Ready to begin the design process?
My book cover design process is straightforward and personal. Here’s how it works.
Step 1: SHARE YOUR WORK, NEEDS, AND IDEAS
Fill out this cover design questionnaire to give me information that allows me to learn about your work.
Step 2: SCHEDULE YOUR FREE CONSULTATION
After looking over the information that you send me in Step 1, I’ll email you to schedule a phone call in which we discuss potential design concepts for your ebook cover, as well as any additional design and marketing needs. This conversation normally takes 30-60 minutes. At the end of our conversation, you decide if you want to work with me.
Step 3: REVIEW YOUR DRAFT DESIGNS
Within 7 days, I’ll email two draft ebook cover designs to you, and we’ll discuss the draft designs via phone and/or email.
Step 4: THE DRAFT STAGE
Most authors like one (or elements from both) of the draft cover designs. However, if you’re not happy with either draft, I’ll come up with a third draft based on your feedback, which should get us on the right track. The draft stage generally takes 2-5 business days.
Step 5: COMPLETED DESIGN
Once you have selected and approved a draft with which you want to move forward, I work up the draft into a polished, completed design.
Step 6: FINAL TWEAKS
I email you a JPEG of the finished ebook cover design, and you provide feedback on any final tweaks that you would like, which are typically minor changes at this point in the process.
Step 7: COVER DESIGN APPROVAL + ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS
When you approve the final ebook cover design, I proceed with designing any related graphics that you have requested, such as ads, banners, or a print cover design, and sending you draft images for your feedback. Since most critical design decisions have been made at this point in the process, this stage moves quickly.
Step 8: INVOICING + DELIVERY
When you approve all elements of your order, I invoice you via PayPal. Once the invoice is paid, I email you the final high-resolution files.
